► Grasses » 46 000
► Thistle   » 30 000
► Algae    »
There is no definate answer to the number of algae becuase as the depth of the water decreases more sunlight is able to pierce the water and make way for Algal growth, and thus the Algae becomes more dense as compared to the middle of the pond.

Types and densities of comsumers, approximate (#/m²)
► Ducks » 5

Picture 1» Producer, Thistle ► This picture shows what the thistle plant looks like when it blooms.

Picture 2 » Producer, Grass ► This is a picture showing the abundance of grasses.
Picture 3 » Consumer, Duck ► Here we can see two Mallards, both believed to be female as only one male was seen.

Picture 4 » Consumer, Small Insects ► A small green insect, that has a ruler beside it to show the true lengh. Approximately 8-9mm
Picture 5 » Kits ► This picture shows the kit that we used, there were two kits available and this one was the Pond kit, which contains different tests for testing the quality of the water, along with a ground temperature stake, and other items.
Picture 6 » Brush ► This picture shows the large density of the thistle and other medium sized brush around our group on the north slope. Luckily our main working area was not so dense and it allowed us a little less restriction of movement to work.
